I wanted something with a good lug sole to work in sand and mud, strong foot support, waterproof, insulated, and all leather to stand up to tromping through brush, scraping against rocks, and basically using them as outdoor work boots get used. It seems as though most boots that match those requirements are loggers, and I prefer a lower heel than logging boots typically have since I sometimes have to do a fair bit of walking during my work day, sometimes on pavement, sometimes on trails.
I needed a boot available in a wide size, and specifically with a wide toe box. Many logging boots I tried on in wide sizes had a narrow toe, which for me pretty much defeats the purpose. These boots have enough room for my toes to be comfortable.
I've had these things for about three months now, and I've worn them every work day... Read more
